Vanessa Butler is the Accounting Manager at Community Reinvestment Fund, USA (CRF), a national non-profit organization with a mission to improve lives and strengthen communities through innovative financial solutions. CRF is a leading CDFI based in Minneapolis-St.Paul. In her role, Vanessa leads the accounting team, produces the financial reporting packages, and provides support to all business lines across the organization. She is a member of CRF’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee as well as a co-lead for the employee resource group for BIPOC Professionals.
With over 15 years in the corporate accounting and finance field, Vanessa carries a strong background in financial reporting, budgetary planning, revenue recognition, and expense management. She holds a BA in Business Administration and an MBA with a concentration in Corporate Management from Florida International University. Vanessa serves as a member of the Latino Economic Development Center board and her volunteer work focuses on the areas of mentorship and community development.
Born and raised in Miami, FL, Vanessa is as a first-generation Cuban-American. At an early age, her first job in the workforce was in the accounting department of her immigrant father’s floral distribution company. That exposure ultimately led to her career path in finance and instilled in her the deeper meaning and importance of Latino empowerment and entrepreneurship.
Outside of work, Vanessa enjoys photography, dancing ballet, and exploring the world with her husband and two children.
