The proud daughter of an indigenous immigrant woman, Saday is a committed humanist and human rights advocate. She was born and raised in rural Colombia.
Her career of over two decades combines her roles as a multidisciplinary artist with expertise in education, designing bilingual curricula, and social-emotional development.
Saday has led biocultural development and revitalization initiatives of indigenous languages in Colombia as the founder and director of the Nativa Foundation. Her work and research not only reflect a deep commitment to indigenous worldview and cultural decolonization, but also recognize the intimate correlation between the revitalization of native languages and the conservation of biodiversity.
Over the last few years, Saday has worked in the areas of International Relations and Cultural Diplomacy. She has played a pivotal role in promoting the Colombia Nos Une program for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia in the West Coast of the United States. Saday has designed and led social and cultural programs at the Consulate General of Colombia in San Francisco, CA, and she has served as Director of Diplomatic Relations for Pro Liberty and Human Rights in America.
Saday recently joined the Business Development Program at the Latino Economic Development Center. In Saday’ s own words, “Joining LEDC represents an extraordinary opportunity to co-create with our diaspora and address the challenges of economic inequality, discrimination, and racism that Latine community faces in this society.”
Saday enjoys cooking traditional recipes passed down from her abuela, dancing, camping, and cherishing moments with her daughter, husband, and friends.
