We invite everyone to come out and enjoy not only the fantastic variety of local vendors but also family-friendly activities, live music, and delicious food. This is a wonderful opportunity to connect with your neighbors, learn about local farming practices, and support our Latinx community.

Who is putting this on, and for whom?

This exciting event is hosted by LEDC in partnership with the City of Minneapolis and the Minnesota Farmers’ Market Association. This is a fantastic opportunity for the community to connect and build relationship with farmer and food producers. And at the end of the day there won’t be any food left, because The Sanneh Foundation will be purchasing all of our Latinx farmers’ produce, additionally bringing meat and milk and distributing it to our community for free. Any leftover produce will then be redistributed to refugee communities.

What is the purpose of the event? Will it be recurring?

Our main goal is to support our underserved farmers, local entrepreneurs, and the Latinx community at large while highlighting the importance of our local circular economy. By featuring a diverse array of vendors, ranging from crafts and clothing to food trucks and medicinal herbs, we aim to showcase the richness of our diverse cultures. This is the first of what we hope will become an annual event.

Why is this important for our community?

This event is vital for our community because it strengthens the local economy by supporting our farmers and small businesses by building a bridge between us. It promotes collaboration between different sectors and highlights the value of sustainable food system practices. By engaging the community, we’re building awareness and appreciation for locally sourced products, which ultimately enhances our quality of life and encourages a sense of Latinx community.

Where and when is the event?

The event will take place at 200 E Lyndale Av N in Minneapolis, from 4pm to 7pm.
