One Hmong farming family will start Minnesota’s growing season more prepared this year. With the support and assistance of LEDC, farmers Choua Yang and Xou Her are happy to have successfully purchased a tractor.
Choua and Xou began farming land with the Minnesota Food Association six years ago and now, with the help of Compeer Financial, are about to close on the purchase of 28 acres of farmland in Isanti, Minnesota. At LEDC, we provided technical assistance on the tractor and farm machinery purchases that will help them mechanize their production of cucumbers, squash, tomatoes and potatoes for the wholesale market.
