In the early 1990s, a group of low-income entrepreneurs had the dream of starting a program that offered higher education opportunities to Latino students in economic conditions similar to theirs.
Through this mission, many young people would have the possibility of fulfilling their dreams.
For many years, Latino leaders from different areas of community development continued to work on this vision.
Thanks to their hard work, the Latino Economic Development Center and its members were able to create the Latino Scholarship Fund (LSF).
In 2006, LSF awarded its first two scholarships. Since then, every year this program has offered support through scholarships to the Latino community, thus promoting its development.
Learn more about this program.
To continue providing these scholarships the LSF program and supporters organize several events throughout the year.
The Golf fundraising event is one of the most important events for this cause.
Earlier today at the Heritage Links Golf Club, the community came together despite the chili morning to enjoy a day of golf and camaraderie, with the important mission to raise much-needed funds for this program during the 2022 LSF Golf Tournament.
Thank you to the @twins for being this year’s event sponsor.
@bluecrossmn was the golf cart sponsor.
And to the many organizations, and businesses that sponsor the holes, provided lunch, and spent the day with us.
Thank you @usbank for providing volunteers as well as the many sister organizations who were supporting the event as well.
A well-deserved recognition was made for Miguel Ramos, from the Minnesota Twins, who received a plaque as a symbol of appreciation and for his drive to put Latinos education at the forefront! 👏👏👏
We will continue to share more soon. Stay tuned.
Thank you to everyone who participated!
