The Latino Economic Development Center (LEDC) announced today that Henry Jiménez has been selected by the Propel Nonprofits Board of Directors to lead the organization as president and CEO. Jiménez will remain in his role at LEDC until late February.
“I am proud of what the Latino community has built through LEDC prior to and during my leadership. However, the best of LEDC is ahead of us,” Jiménez said. “The opportunity to succeed Kate Barr, one of Minnesota’s most accomplished leaders, is an honor and a privilege. As Propel Nonprofits’ next president and CEO, I look forward to leading the organization and championing the nonprofit sector and its sizable impact on communities in Minnesota and throughout the region.”
Over Jiménez’s tenure at LEDC, the organization has raised and administered over $22,000,000 to Minnesotans in 61 counties across the state. In 2024, LEDC is set to break ground on a $10 million dollar project, Plaza del Sol, in the heart of Saint Paul’s East Side.
LEDC Board Chair Carlos Lamboglia reflected, “Not only has Henry worked to grow strong businesses here in Minnesota, he has also worked to develop strong leaders at LEDC. Our team is stronger than ever thanks to Henry’s direction and collaborative leadership style. We are thankful for his leadership and insight, and we wish him and Propel Nonprofits great success.”
A formal search for LEDC’s next executive director will commence in 2024.
