John Uribe has extensive experience in corporate finance, with an emphasis in Mergers and Acquisitions and Venture investing. He is the Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, the largest non-profit health plan in Minnesota. Mr. Uribe joined Blue Cross in 2012 and is responsible for mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and venture capital investing on behalf of the organization. In addition to his current role, Mr. Uribe is a board member for several start-up companies and the Bakken Museum.
Before joining Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Minnesota, Mr. Uribe held a variety of senior finance positions, including CFO for the Home Service segment of The Schwan Food Company, CFO of Redbrick Health, Vice President of Business Development at General Electric, and as a Senior Director of Mergers and Acquisitions at General Mills. John has been fortunate to have traveled throughout the world during many of these assignments. John has deep expertise in advising businesses on how to grow and develop profitably at all stages of their life cycle.
Uribe was born and raised in Northwest Indiana (“the Region”), is the son of two immigrants from Jalisco, Mexico, and speaks fluent Spanish. He has two sons, one a senior at the United States Air Force Academy and the other a sophomore at the University of Wisconsin – Madison. Mr. Uribe holds a Master of Business Administration from Indiana University’s Kelley School of Business
