John is a leader committed to serving to improve Minnesota’s Latino business community. He is a natural planner, agile decision maker, promoter of our team’s internal leadership, and builder of relationships across partners and communities. John joined the organization in 2015, and his service within our Employment and Training Department brought the program to a new high level of client engagement and Funder support. Recently, he led LEDC’s Team in the Covid-19 Housing Assistance Program “CHAP,” delivering housing and utility assistance to more than 4,000 Minnesota households. John serves as manager, coach, and guide in a training program for micro-entrepreneurs that aims to make a preliminarily evaluation of business ideas. He also developed the current training curriculum for self-employed entrepreneurs.
John’s academic background includes a Law Degree from Universidad de Los Andes, Bogota, Colombia; a JD from William Mitchell College, St. Paul, Minnesota; and an LLM from The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.
